The conference will begin on Monday, June 3rd with an Opening Reception and Keynote Presentation by AAAS Fellow Jean-Michel Ané from the University of Wisconsin-Madison!

26th North American Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation Conference

The North American Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation Conference (NASNFC) has been held for the last 50 years, occurring every two to three years. Originally called the Rhizobium Conference at its first meeting in 1968, the NASNFC underwent a name change to represent the geographic distribution of the majority of the participants, and to include the research on actinorhizal symbioses, associations with cyanobacteria, and associative nitrogen fixation.
The main goal of the NASNFC has been to create a space where researchers in these different specialties can exchange new information regarding nitrogen fixation research in North America. What makes this conference so unique and important is the diversity of topics included, ranging from the most fundamental experiments to applied research.
In June 2024, the 26th Annual NASNFC will be held in Burlington, Vermont, hosted at the University of Vermont. We are very excited to see you all soon!
